Charles Himekawa is a well decorated officer in the Astrian Colonial Marines. He joined the Colonial Military as part of a scholarship program for engineers. After successfully completing his education he proceeded to pursue his Phd with the Engineering Corps.

Despite his expertise in designing, Charles was very proficient in the practical application of his skill. This was best observed in his early career, where he spent time on the front lines as a combat engineer. He also spent a lot of his free time tinkering on military vehicles, often boosting their performance. These vehicles eventually became known as the “Himekawa Specials” and earned him the nickname: “The Tinkerer”.

While he was the commander of the engineering division of what later became the Astrian Colonial Marines First Army he was noticed by Colonial Intelligence for his excellence. He was offered a position at CI's Research and Development division.

Continuing his steady climb through the ranks, Charles eventually became the commanding officer of the Partesia Crater Research Base. When the ACA needed a representative for the Djana Military Research Centre he was the obvious choice.
